NARC is placing sensor modules in the ice to detect radio signals (Askar'yan pulses) derived from the rare interactions between a high-energy neutrino and the ice.  The module is known as a DRM, a "Digital Radio Module" which is typically mounted on an IceCube string.  The DRM has 4 receiver antennas and a transmitter antenna.

The overall DRM design plan can be viewed through a series of block diagrams

Many of the DRM components were designed and/or fabricated in the IDL.  See Photos.
